Christmas Time

Well, Christmas has come and gone again this year :( We had a wonderful Christmas, as usual! As I've gotten older, I've realized how much I don't like being 1. told what to do and 2. pulled in 150000 different directions. Every year since Josh and I have been married we have had to have 5 Christmases, literally. One with just me and him, one with my parents, one with his parents, and separate ones with each of my two grandmothers. This year was the breaking point, especially since we've added a step-grandfather into the mix (Mama's mother got re-married this summer). So, Josh and I put out feet down and said enough. This really wasn't a problem with my parents or his parents or the re-married grandmother. It was, however, an issue with my other grandmother. She just didn't understand why Josh and I couldn't come to her house and go to Josh's family on Christmas eve. Josh's parents live 1 1/2 hours from Clinton one way! It's not physically possible for us to do two Christmases in one day! And with our son on the way, I just don't want to be stressed out and pulled trying to get to everyone's house. SO, Josh and I had 3 Christmases - ours at home Christmas morning (it was Jocko's first Christmas!), one with his parents and brother and sis in law Christmas Eve, and one with my entire family Christmas evening. I personally was able to enjoy Christmas for the first time in a loong time.

I have to say that I am so excited about the "tradition" me and Josh started this year with us. I got up and cooked breakfast for us Christmas morning! Yeah, it's a little tradition but I'm excited about it! Next year, we'll get up with our 8 month old son and have Christmas and then I'll cook us breakfast! If my parents or Josh's parents want to come, that would be fine as well!

Josh got me the most awesome present ever - a 10.1 Canon EOS Rebel with an Image Stabilizing lens and a telephoto zoom lens! It can take 3 frames per second and it is a wonderful camera! I'm so excited because my old camera has an incredibly slow shudder speed and I've done everything I can to speed it up and nothing works so hopefully with this one, I won't miss anything with our children! Fingers are crossed on the not missing anything!

Here is a picture that I took of Pluto in our backyard the other day with my new camera! Isn't he handsome!

Jocko on Christmas day - I love the setting on this camera that blurs the background a little and really focuses on the person/animal/thing that you are focused in on! He looks so handsome too! He's gotten SO BIG since we got him!!

I'm 25 weeks along now! You can SEE him moving now rather than just feel him move - he's starting to wake me up in the night moving around, but it's so worth it :) I can't wait to meet him!!

It's a BOY!!

We found out November 19th that we are expecting a son! Words cannot describe how excited we are! I can honestly say that I really don't have a name picked out! We've got a few that we like, but we aren't fully decided on one yet...

I'm pretty sure that I'm "nesting" now. All I want to do is stuff for him - not write my research paper that's due Thursday or work on plans for my maternity leave - all I want to do is paint the canvases that I'm working on for his room, clean out his nursery and get ready to paint, pick out paint colors, and make the blankets that I'm working on for him! Yeah, that's all I want to do! Nothing for work or school, just stuff for him =]

Three more weeks till Christmas vacation!!! Thanksgiving break went by way too fast so I am now counting down the days till Christmas break! 15 more school days till then!!!

Just an Update

Yeah, so it's been a little while since I blogged anything. I've just been super busy with work, school, and all that those two involved. I'm now 16 weeks along. We'll find out what we are having November 19th. i really don't know if I have a preference...I just want a healthy baby...even though I'm kinda overrun with boys currently, so a girl would be nice, but i want one of each so it really doesn't matter! :) I'm just ready to know!!

I still have a 4.0 in grad school! I've completed 6 whole hours and am taking another class right now. I'm a little frustrated cause the two classes that I need to take this summer are both offered in June on the same day....there's NO way that i can do that with a new baby and no way that I would want to do it even without the baby! So I've emailed my advisor in hopes that she can do something and maybe one of the classes could be offered in July....I just want to graduate!

Jocko has a double ear infection...he has a yeast infection in both ears. We noticed it on Wednesday night and Josh took him to the vet the next morning - his ears were disgusting - oozing puss stuff and really REALLY red..he had to get a shot and is on an anti-inflamatory and an antibiotic and some ointment. They are looking better, but you could tell that they were hurting him pretty bad the other day. He just moped around and pawed at them =( Pluto is good - he's going to be a hotdog for halloween! I found the costume today! It's hilarious! Josh doesn't like it but I thought it was pretty funny!!

I'm ready to be able to start buying baby stuff!!!!!!

And a baby makes 4!

Well, life has an interesting way of changing things. I am 9 1/2 weeks pregnant. Josh and I are so excited! I'm currently sick with a head cold, so I don't feel good at all. But, overall, I guess this pregnancy has been okay. I don't have anything to compare it to, so I think it's going okay. I mean, I'm sick just about everyday at some point and I'm always so tired but I think that's what's supposed to happen. But, I'm due April 11th and can't wait!!

We've added one more to our family!

This is our new baby! His name is Jocko and he's an 8 weeks old chocolate lab....yeah, it's a lab and I know that they eat everything and this picture proves it, but he's just SO CUTE and cuddly!! I absolutely LOVE him!

Mom, I'm tired! Stop with the pictures!!

I love being a teacher cause, even though I'm taking a summer class, this having the summers off is totally worth the BS I put up with during the year! Almost finished with the summer class, thankfully! My grandmother's getting married Saturday - still a little weird, but she's happy so that's all that matters! We're going to Atlanta in a couple of weeks and can't wait! Not too much else to report.....

why can't I sleep?!

Ugh, I'm so sleepy, yet I can't fall asleep! I've got 10,00,000,000,000 things on my mind which is blocking me from being able to fall asleep....stupid grad school is driving me crazy, plus the wind is blowing outside, also keeping me awake, so I'm laying on the couch watching some show on E! while Josh is able to sleep like a baby - that's the main reason I'm in the den - I didn't want to wake him up....Summer's been okay so far, I'm a little bored and it's been tough not having a set schedule, cause I do better when I have a schedule I have to follow - that's the downside of being ADD....I operate SO much better when I know what I'm supposed to do when, rather than just doing whatever. But, that's just me and I know alot of people aren't like that. That's why I probably couldn't be a stay at home mom when that time comes. I'd never get anything done here! But, I am excited about the summer. Josh and I are going to Atlanta for a weekend in July. My grandmother and one of my best friends are both getting married. I'm going to see another best friend in the Miss Mississippi pageant in a few weeks. But, the past two weeks, I've just been sleeping and working on my grad class! Oh, and laying out. Getting a pretty good tan! Proud of it :) Well, I'm going to try to go to sleep, I think. I don't feel too good, but maybe I can sleep now...

24 Days and Counting!

I've only got 24 more days felt in school and I cannot wait!! I've got some kids that I will miss, but I've got some that I will help them out the front door! I start my master's in 23 school days - excited and nervous about that! Josh leaves for Memphis May 19th and will be gone that entire week :( not happy about that, but he was selected out of his entire district to go, so it's kinda a big deal so I'm happy for him..I'll miss him though....we've been working in the yard this weekend and last weekend and I have to say it looks SO much better! We dug up all the bushes in the front and cut down the awful tree/bush thing that was blocking our vision when we backed out of our driveway. We tilled up some new flowerbeds and as we get a little extra money, we're going to get some new plants for the front - it's really going to look awesome!

I have just about finished Pluto's baby book :) Yeah, I made a baby book for my dog! Since it's almost finished, I guess I need to get pregnant and have a baby so I can make a new baby book :) Well, before that, maybe I should scrapbook my wedding considering I got married almost two years and I've had those pictures for two years! HA!

Well, I'm going to continue watching the reunion for Rock of Love 2.....toodles!

Well, I guess I'll move to this website for my blogging. I'm Jennifer - I'm 22 years old and I'm a 9th grade teacher. I met Josh in August of 2005 and we were married June 24, 2006. Josh is a territory manager for US Foodservice in Jackson. We have a great dog named Pluto. Most days, he's awesome, but there are some days that he REALLY ticks me off! I'm starting my Master's in May at Belhaven. No children yet, but we definately want one or two some day!
