Christmas Time

Well, Christmas has come and gone again this year :( We had a wonderful Christmas, as usual! As I've gotten older, I've realized how much I don't like being 1. told what to do and 2. pulled in 150000 different directions. Every year since Josh and I have been married we have had to have 5 Christmases, literally. One with just me and him, one with my parents, one with his parents, and separate ones with each of my two grandmothers. This year was the breaking point, especially since we've added a step-grandfather into the mix (Mama's mother got re-married this summer). So, Josh and I put out feet down and said enough. This really wasn't a problem with my parents or his parents or the re-married grandmother. It was, however, an issue with my other grandmother. She just didn't understand why Josh and I couldn't come to her house and go to Josh's family on Christmas eve. Josh's parents live 1 1/2 hours from Clinton one way! It's not physically possible for us to do two Christmases in one day! And with our son on the way, I just don't want to be stressed out and pulled trying to get to everyone's house. SO, Josh and I had 3 Christmases - ours at home Christmas morning (it was Jocko's first Christmas!), one with his parents and brother and sis in law Christmas Eve, and one with my entire family Christmas evening. I personally was able to enjoy Christmas for the first time in a loong time.

I have to say that I am so excited about the "tradition" me and Josh started this year with us. I got up and cooked breakfast for us Christmas morning! Yeah, it's a little tradition but I'm excited about it! Next year, we'll get up with our 8 month old son and have Christmas and then I'll cook us breakfast! If my parents or Josh's parents want to come, that would be fine as well!

Josh got me the most awesome present ever - a 10.1 Canon EOS Rebel with an Image Stabilizing lens and a telephoto zoom lens! It can take 3 frames per second and it is a wonderful camera! I'm so excited because my old camera has an incredibly slow shudder speed and I've done everything I can to speed it up and nothing works so hopefully with this one, I won't miss anything with our children! Fingers are crossed on the not missing anything!

Here is a picture that I took of Pluto in our backyard the other day with my new camera! Isn't he handsome!

Jocko on Christmas day - I love the setting on this camera that blurs the background a little and really focuses on the person/animal/thing that you are focused in on! He looks so handsome too! He's gotten SO BIG since we got him!!

I'm 25 weeks along now! You can SEE him moving now rather than just feel him move - he's starting to wake me up in the night moving around, but it's so worth it :) I can't wait to meet him!!
